Reserve Africaine

The African Reserve at Sigean is one of the most appealing attractions close to Villa La Cascade. Situated on the coast about 20 kilometres south of Narbonne and 40 kilometres from Perpignan the reserve features Lions, Rhino, Elephants and Zebra and various other game animals roaming in a convincingly natural environment of 300 hectares- usually made the more enjoybale because of the Languedoc weather. For those staying in this Languedoc villa, it’s about 25 minutes away down on the Mediterranean coast near the village of Sigean.

These animals are viewed from the safety of your car and if you are renting our Languedoc villa it’s definitely worth a visit if you have an interest in conservation and African wildlife. Our favourites at the Reserve Africaine include some comical Tibetan black bears and a herd of very graceful antelope. There are now almost 4000 animals covering 160 different species and the reserve has develpoed a deserved reputation for providing one of the best game parks in Europe.
